AcroYoga: Learning to Fly

This class is taught by:

Elise Foster

Elise, inspired by her yoga teaching grandmother, began practicing yoga at a young age. In 2011, Elise "flew" for the first time at Meridian Hill Park and immediately fell in love with AcroYoga and its lineage of 3 different elements - yoga, acrobatics, and the healing arts. Apart from AcroYoga, she is also certified in Tantra Hatha Vinyasa yoga, Reiki, and Thai massage. Elise aims to bring to others the joy, power and healing energy that yoga and AcroYoga brought into her life. Like nothing else she has experienced, AcroYoga has the ability to transform lives - it can free one's playful spirit, create community, and cultivate trust and communication.

AcroYoga is a dynamic partner practice that blends the wisdom of yoga, the power of acrobatics, and the loving kindness of healing arts. These three lineages form the foundation of a partner practice that cultivates trust, playfulness, and community. In AcroYoga: Learning to Fly, we'll employ safe, simple steps within the acrobatic element of the practice to approach what otherwise may seem impossible and find ease and stability in dynamic postures. In the process you'll cultivate trust, strength, empowerment and playfulness as you learn proper physical techniques - giving you the tools to fly and give flight to others! You can expect to laugh, meet new people and surprise yourself with what you can do!

*No partner required - solo participants welcome. Bring a friend or come and make new ones!
*All levels welcome. No experience with yoga or AcroYoga required.
