The class always includes a proper full body warm-up, mindful movement and sequencing, attention to safe alignment, and clear guidance of breath-initiated flow. While the class is geared toward the intermediate practitioner, modifications are made to suit newer students and variations for the more experienced student.
This is not a hot yoga class. The studio temperature will be adjusted depending on outside weather conditions to suit the comfort level of students and to optimize the benefits of the practice. Usually, the temperature will range between 76 degrees and 80 degrees, with the maximum being the exception rather than the rule.
Flow All Levels
This class is a moderately paced class appropriate for ongoing/experienced level I students through advanced practitioners. All Levels connotes a mixed style class incorporating vinyasa yoga as well as attention to alignment and technique. Modifications and amplifications are given allowing the students to choose a more beginning or a more advanced practice according to their needs. Progressive, safe growth will always be emphasized. This is a beautiful opportunity to be inspired by your fellow students at all levels. Class will start with a proper body warm up, followed by attention to core stimulus. Asana combinations will systematically navigate the entire body. The room may be heated between 75-80 degrees and complimented by great music enhancing overall calm and flexibility. Savasana will complete practice as the student's mind, body, and spirit yoke together in peace.
Power Yoga II/III
This class is a powerful, energetic form of yoga where students fluidly move from one pose to the next with breath connecting movement. This type of class is taught in a heated studio (ours will not exceed 80 degrees) which makes it a vigorous and revitalizing form of physical fitness. It incorporates strength, flexibility, balance, cardio and physical and mental stamina all in one session. Baron Baptiste, founder of this form of yoga, describes this practice as "the perfect blend of sweat and serenity". This class will start with a proper body warm up followed by belly up core work. Interval and cross-training exercises will be incorporated to challenge both the aerobic and anaerobic systems of the body. Because the body adapts, each class will vary types, intensity, and duration of exercises. The teacher will provide variations to modify, intensify, or challenge the body by altering the pace or duration of poses, and the frequency that they are repeated. Prerequisites for this class includes consistent practice of 5 plus months, familiarity of basic and foundational poses, and most importantly, an open mind and an open heart. Anticipate torching your calories, toning your muscles, strengthening and rinsing your body, and clearing your mind, leaving you with a sense of accomplishment and empowerment. The dynamic mix of sweat and spirit that you cultivate in class will challenge you to step up to your edge and unlock your hidden potential for achieving authentic personal power and living an extraordinary life. Opportunity for inversions and balances and challenging transitions will occur often, but all practitioners are encouraged to modify as needed, following teacher suggestions. Music will be incorporated into each session. Class will close with a well-earned savasana. Be prepared to shine!
This class consists of basic to intermediate poses sequenced at a moderate pace. Vinyasa will be used to link breath to movement to create a flowing meditation to build heat, strength, and flexibility. Students are advised by the teacher to rest when appropriate, but students always have rest as an option at any time. The class, though a bit more slanted towards the client with a consistent practice of 3 plus months, welcomes the beginner using basic foundational poses as a base. Modifications for all poses are clearly explained. The intermediate practitioner will find more advanced variations of the same poses offered. All will receive a proper body warm up, some core conditioning, and explanations regarding alignment and safe practice. The studio may be heated between 75 and 80 degrees and complimented by great music, supporting more flexibility and a calm state of mind. Savasana will complete the practice providing mental and physical rest, fluid connection to breath, self-acceptance, and peace.
This is a moderately paced 60 minute class utilizing vinyasa to link breath to movement. This class is recommended for students with a consistent practice of 4 plus months at level 1/II. Students are free to abbreviate continuous vinyasa as it applies to their physical needs and the intention they set for the class. This class is for those ready to experience more challenging postures and transitions. Inversions and balancing poses will be introduced on a intermediate to advanced level. Introduction to any inversion/ balance will be clearly explained so that all practitioners have an accessible and safe entry point. The teacher will encourage rest and modifications as needed. All will receive a proper body warm up coupled with core conditioning at the beginning and through out class. Core conditioning is essential to a practitioner's advancement into any form of inversion and balance. The room may be heated between 75-80 degrees and complimented by great music, enhancing mental calmness, flexibility, and a relaxed nervous system. Savasana will complete practice, culminating in complete rest and peace.
Vinyasa All Levels
This class is intended for regular yoga practitioners. Intermediate and advanced yoga practitioners will experience a moving meditation, intertwined with music, mantra and yoga philosophy. The practice will build heat, while helping to develop both strength, flexibility and internal clarity.
Students will taken through intermediate and advanced yoga poses done in a continuous flow and will get a deep workout, including dynamic stretches and active strengthening. In this fluid style of yoga, students will link postures with the flow of their breath.
