Rexx Samuell

Rexx Anthony Samuell is a yoga teacher and trainer. He is registered with the Yoga Alliance at the E-RYT-200-hour level and is a certified personal trainer through National Academy of Sport Medicine. Introduced to yoga while studying theatre and dance at university, Rexx started practicing Ashtanga Yoga in 2002, completing Primary Series in 2003 and Intermediate Series in 2006. Since 2008, Rexx's current practice includes Advanced A and Baddha Krama. He is one of only 10 teachers in America authorized to teach the Moon Sequence (Chandra Krama). Rexx has attended workshops with Matthew Sweeney, Richard Freeman, David Wililams, Godfrey Devereux, and Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. He studies regularly with his main teacher, Matthew Sweeney, in Bali.
Rexx is known for his clarity of instruction, his attention to an individual’s needs, and his emphasis on freedom through disciplined practice. His classes are sequenced based upon the needs of the students and draw heavily from an understanding of the principles of movement and progression. Through concentration on alignment within the postures, free breathing and directed gaze, the practices of yoga can be gateways to greater awareness which then seeps into other areas of one’s life.


Rexx Samuell instructs the following:
  • Vinyasa All Levels
  • This class is intended for those who have knowledge of yoga asanas and want to start fresh and invigorated for the last day of the work week. Be prepared to move through a moderate intensity flow. Students will work their whole body, through standing poses, then wind down their practice on the mat, but not before adding some core work! Savasana will end the practice allowing students to absorb the benefits of an early morning practice.

    After our 60 minute class, if time permits, stay for some extra minutes of meditation.

    Class temperature will be set to 75-80.


  • Vinyasa II
  • This 75-minute class is intended for the regular yoga practitioner, one who has a basic understanding of asana postures. Students can expect a challenging class that builds heat strength, stamina, and flexibility while exploring intermediate poses. Through Lauren’s nurturing and lighthearted teaching style the postures will feel more accessible and less intimidating.
    The studio temperature will be adjusted depending on outside weather conditions to suit the comfort level of students and to optimize the benefits of the practice.
