Beginners' Yoga Series Starts October 12

Cate Gaffney started practicing yoga 20 years ago, but it wasn’t until she moved to San Francisco that she found her yoga community. She studied and practiced with a variety of teachers and completed 300 hours of Bhakti Flow training with Rusty Wells. With Rusty’s guidance her yoga practice deepened becoming more consistent and spirit filled. Always the seeker, Cate found other ways to engage with the spirit, studying energy medicine, shamanism, and hypnosis. Cate infuses her teaching with lightness and the idea of finding joy in one’s practice. Cate is a Bhakti Flow certified yoga instructor, Reiki II practitioner and a hypnotherapist.

Cate Gaffney instructs the following:
  • Vinyasa II/III
  • As a level II/III Vinyasa class students will be guided to self awareness through breath awareness and through breath awareness to finding a perfect balance between ease and effort, strength and graceful flow. This class is geared to regular, serious and knowledgable students and will include a variety of Sun Salutations, standing poses, balances, arm balances, inversions, backbends, forward bends,hip openers, twists, supine positions and savasana. You will receive a thorough awakening of strength, vitality, range of motion, centered, grounded mental emotional state and enhanced self awareness. Challenging sequences will build upon one another leading you into new and invigorating edge while encouraged to maintain poise and equanimity throughout.

    The studio temperature will be adjusted depending on outside weather conditions to suit the comfort level of students and to optimize the benefits of the practice. 

  • Flow All Levels
  • Start your day with this invigorating and rhythmic practice that warms the body, calms the mind, and opens the heart. Vinyasa flow, all levels are welcome.

  • Gentle Yoga I with Meditation
  • This class is intended for those seeking to build a relationship between the physical practice of yoga postures and the practice of seated meditation. The class is typically book-ended by meditation with about 30-40 minutes of movement in the middle. The meditations are usually breath-focused or gently guided mindfulness meditations. The closing sit (meditation) is longer than the opening meditation. The movement period incorporates warm ups and classical postures targeting the building of strength, stability, balance, and mobility. This class is welcoming of practitioners dealing with prior or current injury, persistent joint pain, osteoporosis, blood pressure management, asthma and any other related conditions. The pace of the class is slow and provides time for personalized modifications and teacher assistance.

    The studio temperature will be adjusted depending on outside weather conditions to suit the comfort level of students and to optimize the benefits of the practice.


  • Vinyasa All Levels
  • This class is intended for those who have knowledge of yoga asanas and want to start fresh and invigorated for the last day of the work week. Be prepared to move through a moderate intensity flow. Students will work their whole body, through standing poses, then wind down their practice on the mat, but not before adding some core work. Savasana will end the practice allowing students to absorb the benefits of an early morning practice.

    After our 60 minute class, if time permits, stay for some extra minutes of meditation.

    The studio temperature will be kept at a comfortable level.
