Summer Canteloupe Smoothie

This quick and easy recipe is perfect to cool down on a hot summer day, and is ideal for a pre or post yoga snack. Refreshing cantaloupe with hints of warm vanilla and cinnamon creates a deliciously sweet smoothie packed with vitamins and antioxidants. This recipe can be made dairy-free, or with Greek yogurt for added protein and texture.

Melons are not only a delicious summer fruit, but they have a ton of great benefits and vitamins. Cantaloupe is proven to help relieve stress and anxiety, as well as calming your nerves. It is also packed with Vitamin C, a vitamin critical for immune system support and fighting off bacterial and viral infections, and Vitamin A, which promotes healthy eyesight.

Vanilla has a calming effect on the nervous system and is an effective treatment for anxiety and stress. Vanilla extract also has very few calories and serves as a sweetener substitute.

Cantaloupe: 1 whole, chopped
Greek Yogurt (optional): 1 cup
Cinnamon: 1/2 tsp
Vanilla extract: 1/2 tsp
Raw honey (optional): 1 tbsp
Ice: 1 cup or until blender is full
Mint for garnish

Place the ingredients in a blender or food processor, fill with ice, and blend until smooth. Pour into glasses (serves 2). Place mint leaves on top for garnish. Enjoy!
